If there’s one good investment I made for myself, it was getting a PlayStation 5 (PS5). Ever since I got it, I’ve been absolutely hooked on it. I’ve already played all the mainstream games such as Spider-Man 2, Stellar Blade, and Tekken 8 and I somehow can’t seem to get enough of them.
However, now I’m looking forward to the upcoming games, especially the ones they have hyped us up for. I even jacked up my internet so that I can purchase and download the latest games as quickly as possible: I found the Optimum internet speed to be exactly what I needed to play these games online, without any lag. A lot of people in the gaming community backed this up, saying that Optimum is one of the best Internet Service Providers (ISPs) when it comes to online gaming.
Coming back to the most anticipated PS5 titles in the future, here are some games that have been announced for release soon:
- Assassin’s Creed: Shadows
Ever since the first Assassin’s Creed game came out, I’ve been a huge fan. I’ve been following nearly all of the parts and now I can’t wait for the next one. It is anticipated that Assassin’s Creed: Shadows is going to be released on November 12th, and it still feels like a long way to go.
With the upcoming title, you can delve into the world of Assassin’s Creed again where you have to be as stealthy as possible and need to work up your strategy as you progress through the game. Not much is known about the story but let’s see what unfolds this time.
- Black Myth: Wukong
I’ve seen trailers for this game and it seems pretty intriguing, even though I couldn’t figure out what was exactly happening. It was like watching a Death Stranding trailer all over again, trying to make sense of what was going on.
In this trailer, our protagonist looks like a monkey of sorts, and the only thing that I could figure out was that this game could possibly be about Hinduism or could also be about ancient Chinese culture. Again, you’ll have to watch the trailer yourself to see what you can make out of it. The game is set to release on 20th August 2024, right around the corner.
- Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions
Honestly, who isn’t a Harry Potter fan? Everyone is! You can probably imagine how ecstatic I was when I came to knowthat there is another Harry Potter game coming up, that too dedicated to Quidditch.
This is something that I have always wanted to see because I have grown up reading the Harry Potter books and watching the movies. Now all I want is a game that is dedicated to Quidditch, because that is the closest I can come to actually playing Quidditch.
- Life is Strange: Double Exposure
For someone who recently played Life is Strange and Life is Strange: Before the Storm, I was pretty excited when the first trailer for Life is Strange: Double Exposure dropped. I was over the moon when I saw that Max Caulfield is returning to the game, which was enough to get me stoked.
There were a lot of questions on my mind, “Whatever happened to Arcadia Bay?”, “What happened to Chloe?”, “Why can’t Max use her time-reversing powers again?” I guess all of this will be answered when the game is finally released.
I absolutely loved the concept that instead of reversing time, Max can now live in two parallel realities where again, she has to rescue a friend from dying. The two parallel realities are what give the game its name, “double exposure”. The game has a release date of October 29, so we’ll just have to wait for now.
- Marvel’s Wolverine
From the studio that gave us all three of those amazing Spider-Man games, we’re also getting a game dedicated to Wolverine and we can only imagine how cool it is going to be. Not much is known about the game despite some massive leaks regarding it, but it already looks pretty promising.
The game will definitely revolve around the story of Logan and possibly how he had Adamantium injected into himself. We’ll only have to wait and see what happens in the game to find out more.
- Kingdom Hearts 4
Square Enix is known to give a painful waiting time when it comes to the Kingdom Hearts games, and it seems like that is exactly what they are aiming for in the case of the new Kingdom Hearts 4. It is very likely that the game will release in 2025 and there’s still a lot of waiting time.
What we know until now is that Sora sacrificed himself (again) at the end of Kingdom Hearts 3 and vanished from there. He traversed to an alternate reality called “Quadratum” and Riku will possibly save him from there. We might even see Sora fight the Foretellers and the Master of Masters himself.
It Doesn’t End Here
If you are up to play Kingdom Hearts IV, I would recommend that you follow up with the story so far so that you wouldn’t be completely clueless while you play. You can head to the PlayStation Store and buy the Kingdom Hearts All-in-One Package so you can play the entire story before Kingdom Hearts IV releases.
